UNC to start freshman Sam Howell at quarterback

North Carolina true freshman Sam Howell will start at quarterback against South Carolina on Saturday. Howell was listed No. 1 on the depth chart released Monday. Howell, who set the North Carolina high school state record for total career yards (17,036) last season, will be the first true freshman quarterback to start a season opener in UNC history.
