Ready to roll with freshman QB: Howell embraces chance to lead Tar Heels in first game

When Sam Howell decided to play football for North Carolina, he had an immediate objective. He achieves part of that Saturday.
Howell, a freshman out of Sun Valley, will be the starting quarterback for the Tar Heels in their matchup against South Carolina. “That’s something I’ve been working for,” Howell said. "I wanted to be the guy to lead this team."
