Andrew Miller’s pitching routine as he warms up for crunch-time assignments is so fine-tuned, so determined that a fellow Cardinals reliever wished he could describe it with “a word that is more exciting than ‘prepared.’” At the point where kinetic merges with frenetic, Miller readies himself, and a former teammate in Cleveland’s bullpen suggested he knows why.
