Komen giving $1.45 million to UNC for breast cancer research

Susan G. Komen is giving $1.45 million to local researchers who are working to fight breast cancer right here in the Triangle. $1.45 million will be granted to three researchers at UNC. The researchers will study how tumors respond to therapies, identify the genetic drivers of breast cancer and study inflammation in breast cancer patients.
