National football signing day preview
Posted Feb 1, 2006
NCAA rules allow schools to admit just 25 players per year on football scholarships. So how will North Carolina handle enrolling the 27 prospects it’s expected to sign today? Only UNC coach John Bunting and his staff know for sure. But the Tar Heels may be able to count one or more of today’s signees toward last year’s scholarship numbers, or some may not qualify academically and head to prep school for a year before coming to Chapel Hill. Either way, it’s nothing new in the recruiting game.
