For Mack Brown, a long climb since App State days

The Mack Brown reunion tour takes yet another twist Saturday. North Carolina’s coach will look across the Kenan Stadium field and see a former team, albeit that has been a while. The Tar Heels meet Appalachian State, where Brown set part of the foundation for his coaching career.
“I wanted to be a head coach so badly,” Brown said.
