Bengals lack of utilizing Giovani Bernard is puzzling and it needs to change

Less than a week before the 2019 season started for the Bengals they made the curious decision to re-sign backup running back Giovani Bernard to a two-year, $10.3 million contract extension through the 2021 season and it's been even more curious how little he has been utilized through the first five games. Bernard has touched the ball only 31 times.
