UNC Basketball Mailbag Jan. 24
Posted Jan 24, 2006
Somewhat surprisingly, the most frequently worn number is one that can't be worn anymore. 21 Tar Heels have worn number-20. The last person to wear it was Steve Bucknall, who wore it during the time period that Carolina established the criteria for jersey retirement. That criteria resulted in number-20 being retired in honor of George Glamack, who had one of the best nicknames in Carolina history--The Blind Bomber.
