Sam Howell breaks Tar Heels’ record

A bright spot for the Tar Heels has been freshman QB Sam Howell who has played very well through the first seven games. With his five touchdown passes in the loss to Virginia Tech, Howell set a new freshman record for most touchdown passes in a season. He passed former quarterback Darian Durant, who passed for 17 during the 2001 season. (Keeping It Heel)
