With his teammates surrounding him, five-star defensive end Desmond Evans announced his verbal commitment to North Carolina during Friday's homecoming pep rally at Lee County High. Evans, a 6-foot-6, 240-pounder, selected the Tar Heels over fellow finalists Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech.
