'Canes stun No. 20 North Carolina
Posted Jan 15, 2006
It's not often that the Dean Smith Center has one of those pin-drop moments of silence. Saturday afternoon, less than a minute after Miami guard Guillermo Diaz sank a 3-pointer to ice the Hurricanes' 81-70 victory over North Carolina, Diaz was at the free-throw line trying to extend the lead in the final minute. The 21,413 fans, who had been roaring earlier, were so quiet that the entire arena could hear the heckling of two fans.
