ESPN’s Marty Smith is considered one of the true good guys in the sports media industry. He proved it again on Saturday, after LSU’s win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Following the game, WRBL (Columbus, Ga.) sports reporter Jack Patterson was doing a prerecorded a standup TV spot about the Tigers’ win from inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
