North Carolina's win over Oregon on Friday, which put UNC in third place for the Battle 4 Atlantis, allowed coach Roy Williams to pass Adolph Rupp on the wins chart with 877 victories, leaving him just two wins shy of tying his mentor, Dean Smith, at 879. But more importantly, it provided hope that Williams' 2019-20 Tar Heels can play at an elite level.
