It was Roy Williams' 878th win as a head coach. He needs one win to tie Dean Smith for fourth place all-time. Freshmen Armando Bacot, Anthony Harris, and Jeremiah Francis scored double figures vs. UCLA. It was the first time three UNC freshmen scored double figures since 11/12/2010 vs. Lipscomb (Harrison Barnes, Reggie Bullock, Kendall Marshall).
