Brian Chacos gets extra year of eligibility

North Carolina announced Friday that the NCAA has granted offensive tackle a sixth year of eligibility, allowing him to play football for the Tar Heels in 2006. That was a thrilling piece of news for coach one day after he dismissed junior receiver for an undisclosed violation of team rules. The Heels also could lose defensive coordinator Marvin Sanders to one of two Big 12 Conference suitors. (Greensboro News & Record)
