Losing season still a winner for Heels


For North Carolina, 2005 was about close wins, close losses and the closeness between finishing with a winning or a losing season. But on the road against No. 5 Virginia Tech, the season came down to how far, as in: How far had coach taken his Tar Heels program in five years? How far was a team in the middle of the ACC behind one not only at the top of the conference, but also the nation? For 30 minutes, it wasn't far at all. (Raleigh News & Observer)
