Tentatively, Thomas to start Tar Heels' season on the bench

The one player on his roster who started a game last season likely won't start Saturday. North Carolina men's basketball coach wouldn't write it in ink, but he penciled in his five starters Thursday afternoon for Saturday's season-opening game against Gardner-Webb. Senior and junior will take the Smith Center floor at 8 p.m. with three freshmen: 6-9 center , 6-5 shooting guard and 6-3 point guard . (Durham Herald-Sun)
