From JV to walk-on, Caleb Ellis recounts his journey with UNC basketball

Before Caleb Ellis stepped foot on campus, he'd heard about UNC's junior varsity basketball program. He hadn’t thought about it much until he heard a group discussing tryouts while at a gym on campus. The tryouts lasted a few days, and he secured himself a spot. Jump ahead two years, and Ellis had been called up by Roy Williams to the main team.
