October 3, 2005 was a bad day for Tar Heel fans. That's the day Spencer Hawes became a member of the Washington Huskies. Flowers didn't bloom, the sun didn't come out, and UNC once again didn't get their true center. Two days later, things got much better. That's the day stud center Deon Thompson made his decision to be a Tar Heel. All of a sudden all was well.
