Recruiting History: Mark Maye, The Coveted Quarterback

The first recruiting letter that former North Carolina quarterback Mark Maye received wasn’t from UNC coach Dick Crum or football coaches at in-state schools like N.C. State, Wake Forest, Duke, and East Carolina. It wasn’t even from a football coach. “I still remember when Coach (Dean) Smith wrote me a letter during my sophomore year,” Maye said.
