Tar Heels step up late to lead class rankings
Posted Nov 10, 2005
Getting the nation's best point guard, best shooting guard and best wing forward is a recipe for another national title for Roy Williams. Matt Doherty signed three top-10 players from the Class of 2002, getting Raymond Felton, Sean May and Rashad McCants and setting up Williams with the nucleus to win his first championship. The Tar Heels did the same this fall, only they also added additional frontcourt talent to give the program greater continuity.
