UNC enjoyed its most memorable moment of the 1973-74 basketball season when it overcame an 8-point deficit with 17 seconds left to beat Duke thanks to a Walter Davis 28-footer that sent the game to overtime. Until Luke Maye’s 2017 heroics and Michael Jordan’s jumper in the 1982 NCAA title game, that may have been the most famous shot in UNC history.
