UNC Freshman Golfer Peter Fountain Wins North Carolina Amateur

University of North Carolina freshman Peter Fountain made a 4-footer for par on the 72nd hole to force a playoff and won the extra hole to capture the 2020 North Carolina Amateur Sunday at the North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh. Fountain, a Raleigh native, shot 68 in the fourth round to finish 72 holes of regulation play at 9 under 271 (69-70-64-68).
