A preseason of concern and questions in 2019 morphed into an offseason of hype and expectations for UNC inside linebackers Chazz Surratt and Jeremiah Gemmel entering the 2020 season. It took some time for the Tar Heel tandem to find their foothold in Jay Bateman’s defensive scheme last fall, but once they did, UNC’s defense made significant strides.
