Dean Smith prefaced each UNC basketball practice with a “Thought of the Day,” a method George Karl expounded upon in an interview with ESPN. “Most of those quotes were on life. Every once in a while they were on basketball, but 90 percent of the time they were on civil rights. They were on education. They were on making the right decisions." (Inside Carolina)
