Peter Fountain Shares Top Spot At North & South Amateur

UNC freshman Peter Fountain shot 3-under-par 67 Wednesday on Pinehurst No. 4 to tie two others for medalist honors after 36 holes of stroke play in the North & South Amateur at the Pinehurst Resort. Fountain shot 66-67 for a total of 7 under 133. The Raleigh native tied for the lead with Travis Vick of Houston and David Perkins of East Peoria, Ill. (GoHeels.com)
