Tommy Richardson heads home a leader
Posted Oct 29, 2005
Tommy Richardson says that, in his first two years at North Carolina, trust and understanding were lacking between he and his coach, John Bunting. Much of the angst stemmed from Richardson's unwillingness to move from free safety to linebacker, a change he thought would jeopardize his hopes for an NFL career. He has since warmed to his position and to his head coach. As he returns home for the Tar Heels' first football visit to Miami since 1961, Richardson also has embraced the leadership role that always has come so naturally to him.
