Thaddeus Young had previously committed to UNC

Former UNC basketball recruit Thaddeus Young reportedly committed about two weeks ago to North Carolina, following an earlier visit to the Chapel Hill campus. But when asked by the Tar Heels coaching staff to go public with his pledge before a planned visit to Kentucky, Young and his father, Felton Young, declined. Soon thereafter, Brentwood Academy star Brandan Wright offered to commit to North Carolina and the Tar Heels ended their recruitment of Young.
