Erin Matson scored on a fourth-quarter penalty corner to give the North Carolina field hockey team a 1-0 win over visiting Syracuse on Friday at Karen Shelton Stadium (Highlights). The Tar Heels improved to 5-1 on the season and 3-1 in the ACC. It marked the second game in a row the Tar Heels have scored the game winner in the fourth quarter.
