UNC-NC State Rivalry Returns to Relevance

It has been 27 years since UNC and N.C. State played their rivalry game as ranked opponents. That 1993 grudge match was not relevant on the national stage, although within this state’s borders, it signaled a shift in the hierarchy of college football. UNC had lost five straight to the Wolfpack, yet the Tar Heels were improving under Mack Brown.
