UNC last played Notre Dame in 2017, which was also the first career start for Irish quarterback Ian Book. Filling in for an injured Brandon Wimbush, Book completed 17-31 passes for 146 yards and a TD. Interestingly, UNC's starting quarterback that day was Chazz Surratt, who now starts at linebacker for the Tar Heels and leads the defense with 68 tackles.
