South Carolina was the first school to extend an offer to Gabe Stephens as a high school freshman. That was also before coach Mack Brown and the University of North Carolina entered the mix. "Before Coach Brown came, I wasn’t thinking about North Carolina. Then he came, changed the culture and I saw what they were doing and wanted to be a part of that."
