UNC 17, Michigan 15, Dec. 28, 1979 Gator Bowl: Famous Amos Lawrence ran for 118 yards and Matt Kupec was 18-for-28 passing with 161 yards and a touchdown as UNC overcame a 9-0 deficit to defeat the Wolverines. Lawrence Taylor recorded a key fumble recovery, and the Tar Heels used a 16-play, 97-yard drive to take the lead in the third quarter.
