Former UNC guard Donnie Walsh was a basketball architect who took over an Indiana Pacers team that hadn’t won a playoff game. He turned the team into a perennial contender. Now, he’s walking away. Walsh was the Pacers general manager from 1986-1988, spent the next 20 years as team president and remained with the team as a consultant.
