"The play" makes Khalif Mitchell center of attention for a week
Posted Sep 22, 2005
For a defensive lineman with three tackles this season, Khalif Mitchell attracted a large crowd of reporters Tuesday. What are your memories of the play? Where were you during the play before the play? How did the play affect the rest of your season? Ah, "the play". Even if Mitchell never makes another tackle in his career at North Carolina, his legacy is secure. Mitchell's hit on N.C. State running back T.A. McLendon near the goal line in the closing seconds preserved a 30-24 victory for the Tar Heels on a crazy October night at Kenan Stadium last season.
