Analytics Driving UNC Pitcher Shawn Rapp’s Development

In UNC's shorted 2020 baseball season, Shawn Rapp notched eight appearances, five of which were less than one inning. He was brought in as a matchup guy against lefties. His longest appearance was 2.1 innings, and he mainly threw two pitches — a four-seam fastball and a slider. Rapp used nearly a year off of baseball to focus on the details of his pitches.
