Former UNC Basketball player Kane Ma opens up about racially-motivated attack

"Two years ago, something traumatic happened to me," Kane Ma wrote. "And, due to the horrific acts we witnessed in Atlanta this week and the increase in Asian hate crimes, I feel that I can no longer be silent." Silence for the last two years is what Ma, a former UNC Basketball player, felt would protect him after an apparent racially motivated attack.
