Run defense Carolina's Achilles' heel

In his fifth year as coach of the Tar Heels, John Bunting is still trying to shore up a defense that has been horrible the past three years, never ranking higher than No. 108 nationally. It's a wonder North Carolina finished 6-6 last year, upset Miami (Fla.) and made it to the Continental Tire Bowl with a defense that allowed 31.8 points and 446.5 yards per game.
