Roy retires; is it the end of an era?

It was on this day, 18 years ago to the day, that the University of North Carolina began the process of hiring Roy Williams as its men's basketball coach. Athletic Director Dick Baddour couldn’t send the plane to pick up Roy that very night — Williams was coaching Kansas in the Final Four. But of course this time Williams would accept his alma mater’s offer.
