Competition at tailback for UNC

Tar Heels coach John Bunting adamantly discounted an Internet report that suggested Barrington Edwards might have lost the starting job because of two pending speeding charges. The sophomore from Bowie, Md., received both speeding citations last year. Bunting declined to say whether disciplinary issues were relevant to Edwards' starting status.
