UNC's backfield situation muddled
Posted Sep 8, 2005
Barrington Edwards, a transfer from LSU who has been designated UNC's first-string tailback throughout training camp, is not the sure starter at the position for the Tar Heels' first game Saturday at Georgia Tech, Coach John Bunting said Wednesday. True freshman James "Cooter" Arnold and fullback Rikki Cook also are in the mix. The notion that Edwards might not start the game came on the same day when two speeding tickets against him came to light.
