UNC basketball injuries hamper learning

A trip to the Bahamas over Labor Day weekend was supposed to give North Carolina's five freshmen a head start. It didn't exactly turn out that way. Guard missed all four practices and both exhibitions because of a broken bone in his left (nonshooting) wrist that required surgery. Guard missed one game with a thigh bruise. Guard couldn't shoot without pain after an opponent came down hard with an elbow on his right shoulder. (Charlotte Observer)
