Tar Heels shore up starting jobs

Senior Mahlon Carey at strong safety and junior Larry Edwards at strong-side linebacker have won starting jobs as North Carolina coach John Bunting settles his roster heading into Saturday's opener at Georgia Tech. Bunting said Tuesday he hasn't decided whether senior Steven Bell or sophomore Ben Lemming will start at center, but both will play. (Charlotte Observer)
