Former UNC linebacker Lawrence Taylor was a unanimous first-team All-American as a senior, first-team All-ACC and ACC Player of the Year in 1980, and named to the 50-year 50 Greatest ACC Players Ever team. After playing special teams as a freshman and an injury-plagued sophomore season, Taylor was a solid player as a junior but exploded as a senior.
