UNC built an early lead and made key plays to keep a hot UCLA squad at bay to secure a 5-4 victory in opening round action in the Lubbock Regional on Friday night. The Tar Heels once again leaned on righty ace Austin Love, who struck out nine and allowed three earned runs in 6.2 innings. UNC will play No. 8 national seed and regional host Texas Tech.
