Former UNC forward Al Wood was a two-time All-American in 1980 and 1981, three-time All-ACC, three-time All-ACC Tournament team, first-team All-NCAA Tournament team, and his Tar Heel jersey is honored at the Smith Center. Wood is the fifth all-time leading scorer in UNC history with 2,015 points, and he averaged 16 points per game in his career.
