Backup QB Battle Behind Sam Howell Heating Up As Preseason Camp Nears

Sam Howell enters the 2021 college football season as a leading Heisman Trophy candidate and could be the top pick in the 2022 NFL draft. But UNC's coaching staff must have a backup plan. And in the case of who would take snaps for the Tar Heels if Howell cannot go for whatever reason, it likely will come down to Jacolby Criswell or Drake Maye.
