Larry Brown stayed quiet on discussing being hired as a Memphis assistant coach under Penny Hardaway — until Thursday. Brown spoke for the first time on coming to Memphis after being named the winner of the Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Basketball Coaches Association. Brown won 1,098 games in as an NBA head coach.
