UNC Football ranked No. 9 in preseason coaches poll

UNC Football is No. 9 in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll released Tuesday, the highest preseason coaches poll ranking since the Tar Heels were No. 8 in 1997, the last season of Mack Brown’s first stint in Chapel Hill. That season, UNC was ranked No. 7 in the preseason AP poll and finished 11-1 after beating Virginia Tech 42-3 in the Gator Bowl. (Tar Heel Tribune)
