UNC Takeaways: Defensive Coordinator Jay Bateman

Posted Aug 11, 2021
A lack of experienced talent was problematic for North Carolina Tar Heels defensive coordinator Jay Bateman's unit in 2020. The Tar Heels ranked 65th in scoring defense (29.4), T-66th in defensive red zone touchdown percentage (63.0) and 74th in yards per play allowed (5.8). The young talent on hand built its experience as the season went along. (Inside Carolina)
